Wellbeing Wanderer Yorkshire

Psychological therapy for PTSD, insomnia, anxiety and depression

Therapy can be hard to begin. You may know exactly what you want help with, or you may simply know that something is not working as it used to. I offer therapy for adults in Malton, North Yorkshire, online and in person.

Sometimes the difficulty is clear: poor sleep, the effects of a traumatic experience, anxiety in social situations, or a low mood that has become hard to shift. Sometimes it is less easy to name, and you may only know that life feels heavier, narrower or more effortful than it should.

Therapy offers a chance to think carefully about what is happening and what might help things begin to change.

Free, no obligation, and entirely confidential.

Areas I help with

What brings people here

I work particularly with the following, though many people arrive without a precise label for what they're experiencing.

PTSD & trauma

Intrusive memories, nightmares, feeling on edge, or a changed sense of safety after overwhelming or distressing experiences.

Insomnia & sleep

Trouble falling or staying asleep, waking too early, or a mind that becomes busier the moment you try to rest.

Social anxiety

Feeling intensely self-conscious, fearing judgement, avoiding situations, or replaying conversations afterwards.

Depression

Low mood, low energy, poor concentration, or a sense of numbness, irritability or feeling unlike yourself.

Not sure whether your experience fits neatly into a category? That's completely fine — read more about what I help with, or simply get in touch.

About Andy

Grounded experience, a warm and non-judgemental approach

My name is Andrew Cunningham, though I generally go by Andy. I bring years of experience from work in the NHS, and before moving into my current role I worked as a social worker for 11 years and later as an assistant service manager.

"That background has shaped the way I work — a grounded understanding of how emotional and psychological difficulties sit within the wider reality of people's lives."
